Computer science is not about machines, in the same way that astronomy is not about telescopes. There is an essential unity of mathematics and computer science -- Mike Fellows (often attributed to Dijkstra, but first published by Fellows in 1991 in "Computer SCIENCE and Mathematics in the Elementary Schools")
People say that Computer Science is an inherently interdisciplinary area of study. What does this mean, really? Does it mean that we haven't really come up with an agreed upon definition of what CS is? Maybe.
